VAT Exemption

Products in our catalogue displaying this icon are designed specifically to aid disability or severe injury. These products can be purchased exempt of VAT (Valued Added Tax)

If you are registered disabled or have a long-term medical condition, you may qualify. Your local Customs and Excise VAT office will be able to confirm your eligibility if you are in any doubt.

You will need to complete and sign a VAT exemption declaration. Once this has been received, we will process your order at the retail price quoted on your order less the VAT element.

• You must be sure of your eligibility for VAT relief before completing the declaration.
  Section 39.2 of the VAT Act 1983 provides for severe penalties for anyone who makes use of a document which they know to be false for the purposes of obtaining VAT relief.
• The goods ordered must be for your personal or domestic use only.
• The VAT relief does not apply to the posting and packaging charges.
• The completed form is retained by Livingaids Ltd for presentation to the VAT office only. It will not be used for any other purpose.
• Your order will only be despatched upon receipt of a completed exemption form.
• We can only accept an original document. Photocopies, facsimiles or electronic transmission are not acceptable.

Certain items in our continence section are zero-rated for VAT - they are clearly displayed as "VAT 0%"

These products differ from those products in our catalogue which require a signed declaration of VAT eligibilty by the customer for presentation to HM Customs and Excise.

This move has been taken by Customs and Excise to help improve accessibility to these products. However various conditions apply:

1. The customer must be living in their own home. Supplies to 'institutions' i.e. nursing homes, hospitals and the NHS are NOT eligible to zero-rating on these goods
2. Bed protection items are NOT eligible for VAT relief
3. Where any of the following purchases are made, a signed declaration MUST be obtained from the customer:

• more than 200 disposable pads
• more than 50 washable pads
• more than 5 collecting devices (e.g. urinals)
• more than 10 pairs of waterproof or leakproof underwear

We will not process an order which exceeds these quantities without a valid exemption
