How Does T.E.N.S work?

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulators (T.E.N.S) generate electrical impulses that are sent through the electrodes which can be strategically placed over nerve centres. Pain signals to the brain are blocked by the T.E.N.S. interrupting the brains awareness of pain. Stimulation of the nerve centres may activate endorphins which are used by the body to suppress pain naturally. This T.E.N.S therapy can relieve chronic or acute pain such as back pain, sciatica, sports strains & sprains, muscle injuries and aching joints.

Dual Channel T.E.N.S

The Home Masseur is a dual channel TENS device and should not be mistaken for a single channel device. With a dual channel device you can use 4 electrodes simultaneously, instead of just 2 electrodes as with the single channel devices. This enables you to give pain relief to a much wider area of the body and is ideal for use on the back, shoulders, arms and legs. This device also comes with a pot of specialist massage cream that is specifically designed to aid the effectiveness of the TENS treatment.

Massage Modes

There are three massage modes which are rubbing, tapping and kneading, these modes are sometimes referred to as burst, normal and modulation. The 3 massage modes can be experienced as part of the automatic programs, or can be controlled manually by selecting the mode and then adjusting the strength as desired.

What is Pain Gate Control?

BAXOLVE TENS works by gently stimulating your sensory nerves to suppress the pain signal to the brain by providing a comfortable 'tingling' sensation. This sensation masks the pain, offering immediate pain relief. The pain relief usually lasts for as long as the stimulation continues to be delivered, with a small carry-over effect. This type of pain relief is most appropriate for sharp, severe acute pain. baxolve Programmes 1 and 2 use Pain Gate Control to alleviate pain.

What is Endorphin Release?

Endorphins are the body's own natural pain relieving hormones, and are released from the pituitary gland in the brain when the human body experiences certain types of pain. The BAXOLVE™ Endorphin Release programmes encourage the release of endorphins through a firm, comfortable 'Tapping' sensation.

Stimulation is normally needed for at least 20-40 minutes before endorphins are released. Endorphins tend to remain circulating in the body system for several minutes to several hours after treatment has ceased, offering residual pain relief. This type of pain relief is most appropriate for dull, aching chronic back pain.

About Lumbar Support

Lumbar support can be used to ease lower back pain and also to help prevent the onset of lower back pain. The BAXOLVE belt works by providing support to the spinal and abdominal muscles.
