Important information
Do not drive whilst wearing a soft collar unless you have informed your insurance company.
As your symptoms improve begin leaving the collar off, using it only when your neck is painful. Gradually discard as your symptoms subside.
If advised to wear collar during the day, after a few days start leaving it off for longer periods, e.g. one hour on and two hours off. Aim to wear collar only when pain is severe. It is essential to do gentle exercises to maintain the strength of muscles which may weaken adding to the underlying problem.
If symptoms do not improve contact your GP or consultant.
